Enjoy an evening on the Bubble Tram, the world’s highest ferris wheel, which takes you around the top of Canton Tower (also known as Guangzhou TV Tower), one of the world’s tallest freestanding towers. From here, in your 600-metre-high car, you can look out over the city lights of Guangzhou. Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province (south-east China), is a city of 12.7 million people. It is in perpetual construction, thanks to an economy that has been in hyperdrive ever since it was opened to foreign investors in the 1980s.
The tram costs RMB 130 (about€16) and takes approximately 30 minutes.

The Lights of Canton Tower
Rather than being uplit, the Canton Tower glows at night with a dazzling collection of LUXEON LEDs. Every node in the design can be individually controlled, allowing animations and variations of colour across the entire tower. The architectural lighting design was created by Dutch designer by Rogier van der Heide, and it transforms this slender tower into an icon of Guangzhou. Despite having a total of about 7000 LED fixtures, it uses just 15% of the maximum wattage allowed for façade lighting.
